BRIDGWATER Arts Centre will be holding a day of international festivities to celebrate the new twinning agreement with the Italian town of Priverno tomorrow (Saturday).

Bridgwater has three twin towns and two partnership towns La Ciotat, France, Homberg, Germany, Uherské Hradište in the Czech Republic, Marsa in Malta and the Hungarian town of Sarvar.

Over the past four years Bridgwater has established considerable educational, cultural and sporting links with Piverno and the twinning agreement will be signed this Thursday, February 26.

The arts centre event will take place tomorrow from 11am to 4pm and will feature displays from the different countries with people encouraged to walk around and talk to delegates from each of the twin towns.

Every 30 minutes there will be a presentation in the theatre concentrating on the work of each twinning link.

The celebrations will end with a concert by Italian folk band Marilunari, from the town of Anzio, with the doors opening at 7.30pm.

Entry to the daytime event is free with tickets for the Marilunari concert costing £10.
