ROBERT Blake Science College in Bridgwater is preparing for a change of deputy head teacher next month.

Current deputy head Greg Morrison has been at the school for three-and-a-half years but will be moving on to become the principal of Preston School in Yeovil after Easter.

Mr Morrison said: “I’m going to miss everyone here, the staff and the students but I am looking forward to the new challenges.

“It’s a lovely community school here and it’s a wonderful place to have worked.

“I would like to thank all the people I have worked with over the years.”

He will be replaced by incoming deputy head teacher Deborah Loveridge.

Mrs Loveridge is moving from Crispin School in Street where she has been the deputy head for 19 years.

She told the Mercury she is excited to start at Robert Blake.

“I’m really looking forward to it, the new challenges and getting to meet everyone properly.

“I have really wanted to work at this school because every time I visited I really loved it – there’s a nice feel about the place.

“In the first few weeks, I will be getting to grips with learning lots of new names of pupils and staff and getting to know parents in the wider community.

“I then want to continue the good work that the school has already started, in improving outcomes for the pupils at the school.”
