BURNHAM Rugby Club officially opened its new £100,000 grandstand on Saturday.
The 114-seater all-weather grandstand was built at the BASC ground, thanks to a major funding boost.
Sedgemoor District Council gave £78,587 from its RLT3 development contributions fund, with another £19,646 coming from Viridor Credits.

The rest of the money for the £102,000 build came from the club itself.
The president of Burnham Rugby Club, Mike O’Farrell, and the town’s MP, Tessa Munt, cut the ribbon to formally declare the new grandstand open.

Mr O’Farrell thanked everyone who had helped to make to project happen.
Sedgemoor District Council chairman Peter Downing said: “We have been long-time backers of the BASC ground and it’s good to see it going from strength to strength.”
Tessa Munt said: “The club has done a brilliant job with the money and this grandstand is absolutely fantastic.”
