TOURISM industry leaders from both sides of the Channel have heard how a European-funded project has boosted Sedgemoor businesses.
Marking the end of the COOL Tourism project, a conference in Pas de Calais heard about the project’s successes including website development, business support and marketing campaigns.
In Somerset, the project saw £186,000 invested in developing and promoting rural tourism by four Somerset and Exmoor-based partners, matched by funding from Europe.
A Sedgemoor District Council spokesperson said: “Working with partner authorities on the project enabled businesses to have greater visibility which it was hoped would help with bookings for the coming years.”
