THE Liberal Democrat Party has named Theo Butt Philip as its parliamentary candidate for Bridgwater and West Somerset in the 2015 General Election.
Mr Butt Philip stood for election in 2010 and received 28.3% of the vote but lost to Bridgwater’s long-standing Conservative MP Ian Liddell-Grainger who received 45.3%.
Mr Butt Philip, who lives in Wells, told the Mercury: “I am delighted to have been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate to give the people of Bridgwater and West Somerset the opportunity for real change.”
The Lib Dem candidate will fight for the votes of Bridgwater people against Mr Liddell- Grainger, Labour’s Mick Lerry, UKIP candidate Stephen Fitzgerald and the Green Party’s Julie Harvey-Smith.
