A FIRE engine from Cheddar was called to deal with a chimney fire to a property in Turnpike Road, Lower Weare, Axbridge.
Although the roof was tiled, it was discovered that there was a thatched roof underneath the tiles and another engine was required to help to put it out.
Although the thatch was not involved at this point, an additional fire appliance from Burnham was also called to the scene.
The fire was extinguished from the roof using a hose reel jet, chimney gear and a thermal imaging camera.
