RACHEL Gilmour, who is standing for the LibDems in Taunton Deane at May’s General Election, has been back to her old school – 45 years on.
Head teacher Gareth Jones welcomed Mrs Gilmour to St John’s Primary School, in Wellington, where she met staff and pupils and visited classrooms.
She said: “It was fantastic to return to the school I attended as a child and see that it continues to be so successful.
“Gareth Jones has done an outstanding job in moving the school forward with inspirational ideas such as the plans for a new IT suite.
“He and the teachers are working with the whole school community to make that the children from St John’s today are all going to reach their full potential tomorrow.”
