UNDER-18 year-olds in the South-West who have a mental health problem are no longer to be held in police cells following a Governement review.
The joint Home Office and Department of Health review means ministers will now take action to ensure children and young people under the age of 18 are never held in police cells as places of safety if detained under Section 135 or Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
