A MOTHER of four from Stawley has been left “devastated” after over £200 worth of Christmas presents were stolen from her car, parked not far from her family home.

With just seven days to go until Christmas, Gemma Williams, aged 30, from Appley Cross, near Wellington is now urging people to be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell the stolen goods.

Shopping bags containing £240 worth of presents for her four children – Felicity, three, Finley, seven, Ròmi-Grace, ten, and Layla, 11 – were taken from the car overnight, between Saturday and Sunday morning (December 13/14).

Gemma said: “I was devastated when I realised what had happened – there have been many, many tears.

“I can’t believe there are people who would do something like this – the presents were in Toys R Us bags so the thieves would have known they were taking children’s presents – it’s only nine days until Christmas.

“The children know that presents were stolen, but Finley said ‘it’s okay Mum because Father Christmas will still bring us presents’ so it’s been a tough time.

“We just want to make people aware of what has happened and want people to be on the lookout for any of the toys – I want to make it as difficult as possible for them to shift them, whether that’s taking it back to the shop or selling it on.

“But we have had so many nice messages and support from people, which has helped put a smile back on my face – for every nasty person out there there’s ten nice people.”

The stolen gifts include a jewellery box, two designer sketch books, a tea set book, two science box sets, a board game, a Skylanders Trap Team Single Figure Jet Vac, Disney Princess Frozen Deluxe Elsa Dress 5-6 Years and a ‘My First Disney Princess Frozen Elsa Doll with Dress Up.

Police are encouraging anyone who may have any information to call them on 101.
