A KIND-HEARTED widower has given money donated from his wife's funeral to the Oak Lodge Care Centre in Chard.
Ken Harper's wife Valerie was a resident at the Lodge, but sadly recently passed away.
Mr Harper and his family, son Keith and daughters Ros and Jill, decided that they would like the donations from Valerie's funeral to go to the home to help towards their fundraising efforts to raise money for a new mini bus.
The staff want to give a huge thanks to Valerie's family for their extremely kind donation.
Gemma Jones senior activities Coordinator said: 'We are extremely grateful for this wonderful donation. £900 will go a long way and will make a big difference to our mini bus fundraising campaign.
"Thanks to everyone who donated at the service and thank you to Ken and his family for thinking of us at this difficult time.'
