A NORTH Petherton business owner took a pie to the face for charity this week after he challenged his staff to raise £100 for Children In Need.
Watermarque owner Paul James set staff a challenge they couldn’t refuse when they said they were raising money for the cause by agreeing to take a pie to the face if they were able to raise £100 or more.
Staff at Watermarque Aquatic Superstore quickly used their network of contacts throughout the industry to smash the target set by their boss and raise over £450 for the BBC children’s charity.
More than £50 was made just from raffling tickets to be the lucky person to throw the pie.
Paul told the Mercury: “We have a great team here who wanted to support this fantastic cause and I think I provided them with a very attractive incentive.
“Everyone really got involved with the fundraising effort and people were more than willing to donate but I’m not sure whether to be pleased or offended!”
