Military historian to present First World War recordings
INTERNATIONALLY-RENOWNED military historian Peter Hart will present recordings of First World War veterans at a special event.
‘Flashbacks from the Front’ will take place at the Museum of Somerset at 7.30pm next Thursday when Mr Hart, author and oral historian at the Imperial War Museum (IWM), will talk about the recordings of servicemen recalling their experiences.
Cllr David Hall, Somerset County Council’s cabinet member for heritage, said: “These recordings are a remarkable testimony to those who lived through the First World War. The talk is a rare opportunity to learn about what the recordings can tell us about the conflict.”
