A WOMAN from Highbridge was crowned Spectacle Wearer of the Year at an awards evening in London last week.
At the ceremony Michaela Williams was presented with an award by TV chef, Jean Christophe Novelli, Michaela, 47, said: “I’m so proud to be the winner of Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
I can’t believe it.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for being able to show my appreciation for my glasses to the nation.
“It’s been a wonderful journey and has just gone to prove that everyone should be proud to wear their glasses.”
Michaela walked away with a luxury trip for two to the Bahamas as well as a £10,000 cash prize and £1,000 to spend on eye care at Specsavers.
Store director of Specsavers in Taunton, Emma Denham said: “We’re so happy that Michaela has won this fantastic prize, she thoroughly deserves it.
“She’s a very loyal customer of ours and a fantastic specs ambassador.”
The awards evening was hosted by fashion guru Gok Wan with famous spec wearer including The Saturdays’ Vanessa White, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and actor Larry Lamb attending.
