A SHOP owner is offering a reward after a computer containing precious family photos was among items stolen in a break-in.

Amanda Brooke Hair.Body salon in Fore Street, Taunton, was burgled on Tuesday night last week.

As well as taking three laptops and a camera, the thieves emptied the safe of cash and stole around £2,000 worth of stock.

Salon owner Amanda Brooke told the Gazette the burglars scaled a rooftop before breaking in through a window.

Stock taken was later discovered in bin bags in an air conditioning unit on the roof of TK Maxx in Fore Street.

But the laptop and cameras have not been recovered.

Amanda said: “One of the laptops that was stolen was a really old one and it had about four years’ of family photos on there.

I have five children and it has photos of all of them growing up.”

Amanda discovered the salon had been broken into when she went to open up on Wednesday morning last week.

Peroxide, a type of bleach used to strip the colour from hair, had been spilled all over the floor and some of the surfaces, making it difficult to find fingerprints.

The Gazette understands no-one has been arrested in connection with the burglary.

Amanda is now offering a financial reward for anyone who returns the camera or laptops.

The salon can be contacted on 01823-256050.
