A WOMAN shopper claims she was knocked over by a cyclist in Taunton town centre at lunchtime.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Fore Street at around 12.20pm last Wednesday, October 1.
The woman suffered minor injuries but says she was verbally abused by the cyclist, with some of his language described as racist.
Officers have issued a description of a man they wish to interview – he is white, in his 20s, with a shaved head, and was wearing a blue jacket and dark trousers.
Anyone with any information should contact Taunton Police on 101 and quote 101932/14.
A police spokesman said a 29-year-old man from the town has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence of using words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He has since been released on police bail.
