A CEREMONY to mark the unveiling of a commemorative Blue Plaque was held last week at the former site of Dr Morgan’s School in Bridgwater.
Members of Bridgwater & District Civic Society, in association with the Old Morganians Society, attended the ceremony to mark the site as a place of historic or public interest.
Dr Morgan was a physician who lived in Bridgwater during the early 18th Century.
In his will he entrusted the people of the town to set up a charity school to educate local boys, a charity which survived for 250 years until it was replaced by Haygrove Comprehensive School in 1973.
