A CLAY shooting couple tied the knot in Wellington to round off an impressive year in their sporting careers.
Edward Ling, 31, and Abbey Burton, 27, from Nynehead, were married at All Saints Church.
Edward, who represented Team GB in both the Athens 2004 and London 2012 Olympics, won silver at this year’s ISSF World Shooting Championships – ten days before his wedding – and has now qualified to take part in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Abbey, five time shooting world champion, came fourth at this year’s European Shooting Championships and was last year’s winner of the women’s World Shooting Championships.
A shotgun archway was created for the couple to walk through.
Abbey said: “Ed’s dad planned the shotgun wedding arch – we had no idea about it but we have a lot of friends from shooting clubs so they brought their guns along.”
