HOMES in Sedgemoor has been awarded a ‘Bronze Footprint Award’ in the RSPCA’s Community Animal Welfare Footprints 2014.
The award demonstrates that the organisation has recognised the importance of animal welfare in housing and is actively working with tenants and residents to promote responsible pet ownership.
Dawn Lang, chief executive of Homes in Sedgemoor said: “I am delighted that Homes in Sedgemoor has been recognised for our work in respect of pet ownership.
“We understand that being able to keep a pet is really important to many of our residents and we have developed a positive and clear pet policy to ensure that they are able to do so wherever possible.”
Homes in Sedgemoor was set up by Sedgemoor District Council and currently manage around 4,200 tenanted and leasehold homes.
The council recently awarded a 30-year contract to the not-forprofit organisation to continue to manage council homes in Sedgemoor.
