POLICE are seeking the ‘Good Samaritans’ who helped a distressed woman who was assaulted in Burnham.
The 23-year-old woman says she was attacked sometime after 1am on Saturday, September 20. She ran off and flagged down a car on the nearby A38 which took her to the Lighthouse pub. Continuing on foot, she met two young women who saw her safely home.
Police were called to her house at about 4am when she reported the assault, which is not believed to be sexual.
DC Mark White said: “We really need to trace these people who helped this young woman. Not only may they have valuable information which could help our enquiries but the woman’s family would like to pass on their thanks.
“The two men who stopped to help this lady were in a black five-door car. The driver was white, young, of small build with dark hair. The passenger was black, in his early 20s and slightly chubbier than the driver. The women who walked her home were wearing dark clothing.”
Anyone with any information should contact DC White on 101.
