PAWLETT Rebels were under heavy attack again this week as they lost 9-1 to multi-talented Tiger Old Boys in the Uxella Bridgwater & District Sunday League’s Bill Brown Cup.

Leading the goal-scoring was the prolific Ian Bellinger with five, while Shaun Cash, Rob White, Lee Oparowski and Josh Harvey added the others. Simon Coombes scored Pawlett’s consolation.

In another high-scoring Bill Brown group stage tie, Red Tile beat Blake Old Boys 9-4.

In the early stages of the John Morrell Cup, Knowle Dynamos and New Foresters played out a seven-goal thriller.

Knowle had Aaron Hardwidge (penalty), Jesse van Agen and Dave Field on target but they were narrowly outgunned by the Foresters as Ben Whittet notched a pair and Ed Harrison and Kurt Brown edged them in front.

In the other Morrell tie, Cobblestones had an easier morning, winning 3-0 against Red Tile Reserves.
Charlie Lintell scored two and Jamie Merrick the other for the Stones.

In Division 3, Rhode Lane Wanderers and Woolavington had a ding-dong battle before the Wanderers edged it 5-4.

On target for the winners were Jake Crook (2), Luke Baker, Julian Fairfax, and Martyn Milton from the penalty spot.

Milan Kubinec (2), Tiago Antonio and Steve Harris (pen) replied for Woolavington.

Jack Edwards and Jamie Sellick (another penalty) saw 100 per cent Spaxton Rangers to a 2-1 victory against North Petherton who had Josh Crook on target.

Spenny’s Sports Bar coasted to a 6-1 win against Bridgwater Wolves, with Sam Edmunds leading the way with a hat-trick and Harry Foster, Tom Edmunds and Stephen Tinnion adding the others.

In Division 1, Highburn Athletic picked up a 3-0 victory at Middlezoy Amicus.
