A FUNERAL directors in Bridgwater has reason to celebrate after winning a national award last week.
Lel Wallace and Sarah Stuart from Wallace Stuart Lady Funeral Directors were awarded Most Promising New Funeral Directors 2014 at the national Good Funeral Awards.
The women attended the awards evening in Bournville, Birmingham, along with hundreds of other nominees.
Lel said: “Last year we were runnersup in the same category and to have won it this year is amazing. It means the world to us because it is our past families and clients who nominated us and we thank each and every one of them. We are passionate about the funeral industry and we firmly believe that a good funeral is about what you say and do, not what you spend.”
Charles Cowling, director of the Good Funeral Guide, said: “The world needs to know that some of the nicest people in Britain work in the funeral industry, helping to make a sad time so much less of an ordeal.
“The ladies at Wallace Stuart are forward-thinking, ground-breaking, creative people whose commitment to providing affordable funeral care has made them a formidable force for good.”
