ANGEL Place Shopping Centre started the carnival fire by asking local schoolchildren to design the front cover for this year’s carnival brochure.
With more than 90 entries, the difficult task of selecting the winners was down to Chris Hocking of Bridgwater Carnival committee and Roger Smith, Angel Place Shopping Centre manager.
After hours of deliberation, Clare Cochran was declared the winning designer of the road programme cover and Ellie Mae Norcutt’s design was selected for the concerts programme front.
The judges said they were chosen as they encapsulated the spirit of the carnival. Roger Smith said: “It was a difficult decision because we had so many brilliant entries to choose from.
Thank you to everybody who entered.”
Chris Hocking said: “A lot of preparation work has already begun and we are expecting this year to be another fantastic carnival.
“So many of these entries encapsulate the spirit of the carnival and choosing the winners was very difficult indeed.”
