ONE in three women in the South West have had unprotected sex in the last two years but weren’t planning pregnancy, a sexual health study has found.
The research, conducted by sexual health charity FPA, also learnt that 82% of these women did not use emergency contraception after unprotected sex which can lead to unplanned pregnancies.
The charity has called for better sex education and an end to the “embarrassing” stigma attached to asking for emergency contraception.
