VICTIMS of crime and anti-social behaviour in Taunton will soon have access to a new support service set to be rolled from April next year.

The responsibility for providing support services to victims will be passed from the Ministry of Justice to Police and Crime Commissioners to allow a more tailored support network to be put in place.

Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “Over the past few months we have been listening to the views of providers, partners and victims.

“This has allowed us to really develop the support victims tell us they need and has allowed us to go further than before with new emotional and advocacy services.”
