KIRSTEN O’Brien, CBBC SMart TV presenter, paid tribute to Somerset’s shoe-making heritage at the weekend when she created a giant teapot, using 1,000 Clarks shoes, live on the lawn at Clarks Village.

The teapot is six foot wide, took five hours to create and will be on display in the Village until the end of the month.

The Outlet which has been transformed into the magical Curiously Curious Country Garden hosted the children’s TV presenter and artist as she took on the challenge over the Bank Holiday weekend. Other family activities which took place on the day included oversized vintage lawn games including quoits, croquet and boules.

Geoffrey Nidd, Centre Manager at Clarks Village, said: “We invited Kirsten to close our colourful transformation of the Village into the Curiously Curious Country Garden. Her teapot will add to our garden of eccentricities, oddities and imagination, which includes a giant teacup, oversized flowers, birdcages and toadstools.”

The Village’s country garden theme works in harmony with the countryside setting of the Centre which includes ancient trees, extensive lawn areas and hanging baskets. The Curiously Curious Country Garden is a magical medley of colour and character.
