A DUNSTER shop is undertaking a month-long charity appeal in September to enable people to benefit from life-changing experiences in the great outdoors.
Rohan is encouraging customers to take in any unwanted but usable outdoor trousers, jackets and fleeces, inclduing children’s, into the store as part of the ‘Gift your Gear’ initiative.
The items will go to local community organisations, youth groups and charities for outdoor projects. The store ran a similar appeal in March, with customers handing in more than 9,000 items to Rohan stores nationwide.
Richard Sussex, store manager said: “Customers were incredibly generous last time round, enabling us to donate outdoor geat to numerous worthy groups and causes.
We hope they’re just as generous this time round. “In particular, we’re appealing for children’s gear, as a lot of the organisations that apply for the used gear are to do with children.
“However, we will ensure a good home is found for any item, whether it be for adult or child.”
People taking items in will receive a 15% discount on purchases made on the day.
Anyone interested in benefiting from donated items should email sarah.how croft@gmail.com
