AS the summer months hit their peak, it has been revealed that on average a third of domestic burglaries occur when household doors are left unlocked.
Tony Alderman, crime reduction officer for Somerset West Local Policing, is reiterating the importance of household security.
He said: “Especially at this time of year when people are using their gardens more often, people have shut their doors before going to bed and forgotten to lock them. It is an ongoing problem.”
