FRANK Turner, the saviour of folk-punk and Danny Boyle’s beloved warm-up choice for the London Olympics’ opening ceremony, is in concert in Yeovil in September.

Tickets for the show at Westlands on Saturday, September 20 cost £24.50 each including booking fee.

Turner, who will be flanked by The Sleeping Souls, his band of merry musical men, has long had a deeply loyal following for his honest, passionate folk-punk.

His underground success was built over long years of lonely touring, clambering into the mainstream thanks to sweaty festival singalongs and the grab of second album Love Ire & Song.

With BBC Radio 1 on his side, Turner started scoring headline tours, made BBC 6 Music’s A List, and won over the US punk fraternity.

Tours with the likes of Chuck Ragan, Fake Problems, The Offspring and The Gaslight Anthem followed.

Turner is definitely hot property these days, and tickets to see this “one beardy man and his acoustic guitar” will sell fast at www.westlandonline.co.uk
