KILVE Village Hall has started producing its own energy after it was awarded £2,000 from the E.ON Energy Action Fund.

The hall is at the heart of the community playing host to local clubs, societies and social gatherings.

The grant has enabled the hall to install solar panels to generate electricity, lowering energy costs.

Amy Cross from E.ON said: “The village hall is an intergral part of the Kilve community, so we’re delighted to have been able to help them become selfsufficient and generate their own electricity.

“We hope the donation makes a big difference to the long term plans for the hall, as well as giving immediate savings on energy bills.”

Shirley Dixon, treasurer of Kilve Village Hall added: “We’re extremely grateful to E.ON for this grant.

“The lower our costs, the more the hall can do for our local community.

“We’re always looking to save money and the installation of solar panels will be a huge help in reducing our costs.”
