HAVE you downloaded the Taunton Deane Dragon Trail app yet?

With the project proving popular all around Taunton, Wellington and Wiveliscombe, ‘trailers’ are being reminded they can enhance their hunting with the official app.

The software is available on iPads, iPhones & Android devices and provides a comprehensive list of all the Taunton Deane Dragons including the history of their locations as well as more information about the dragons such as who it was designed or painted by.

The free app – available on Android and iOS devices – also contains an interactive map showing the location of the dragons as well as providing driving/walking directions.

The app was created by Wellington-based TownGuideApps, which specialises in apps for town centres.

Jack Thompson, from the company, said: “We have created and maintain over 35 apps worldwide which have helped towns maximise visitor potential, increase foot traffic to high streets, enhance community engagement and provide businesses with the tools to benefit from the smartphone revolution.

“As a company our aim is to connect local businesses to local consumers using the latest technologies in a way that is simple for everyone.

“We work with Business Improvement Districts, local councils, newspaper groups, business associations and even individuals to provide a service that best fits the project’s needs.

“The Taunton Deane Dragon Trail is a great, family friendly way to get people involved and interested in the Taunton Deane area.

“We are always excited to get involved with projects such as this, as we believe this is a fantastic idea which brings the community together, provides interesting information about our rich local heritage and also helps to raise funds for a good cause.

“When presented with the opportunity we were more than happy to give our full support to develop the app.”

The trail, organised by Taunton Deane Mayor Dave Durdan aims to bring some fun to local towns and villages this summer and raise money for good causes.

As the app is free, please donate to trail funds at locations including the Museum of Somerset and the Tourist Information Centre in Taunton, where you can buy your paper dragon trail guides for £1.
