A TAUNTON man will take to the saddle later this month for a gruelling bike ride to raise vital funds for two local charities and tick another achievement off of his bucket list.
Andrew Cole, 51, will spend an estimated 12 days cycling 881 mile from Lands End to John O’Groats, starting on August 27.
Andrew, who works at Carpet Right in Taunton, is raising money for the Taunton Food Bank and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
He said: “I’ve been wanting to do this ride for some time now as it’s on my bucket list. It’s been planned for a couple of years and I’ve been training for the past 12 months.
“My wife does some work at the food bank, so that’s one of my motivations for picking that as a charity. I’m really looking forward to it now, I’ll be leaving on the Bank Holiday but starting the ride on August 27.”
Andrew will be taking on the challenge alone, but will have his father right behind him in a support car, in case of emergencies.
