ONE-THIRD of people in Somerset with asthma risk taking the wrong medicines by not having annual checks.
Charity Asthma UK says yearly reviews are vital to ensure that people are on the right medicine and can use their inhalers properly.
The recent National Review of Asthma Deaths identified prescribing errors in nearly half (47%) of asthma deaths and room for improvement in the care received by 83% of those who died.
The review also found only 57% of those who died had an asthma check in the last year of their life.
