THE Chameleon Batonettes troupe from Bridgwater have taken part in a national competition.
The group walked away with a host of awards from the National Championships, including six National Champion titles in individual events.
Two teams finished the competition as national champions. They have also been selected to represent England in the European Majorette Championships to be held in Slavonski Brod, Croatia.
14 team members will be travelling to Croatia to participate in this prestigious competition in October.
Troupe leader and choreographer Rachel Boobyer said she was proud of the whole team. She said: “The girls have worked tirelessly this year practicing and perfecting their routines and these results are testament to that.
“This will be the twelfth occasion the team have travelled to various countries to take part in these championships.”
The group has fundraised £580 plus for each girl to be able to compete and the group thanks all those who have contributed.
Selected England members are Rachel Boobyer, Philippa Martin, Faye Martin, Michelle Gower, Emma Dye, Tazmin Selway, Millie Selway, Amy Baker, Abigail Cooper, Megan Smith, Chloe Harding, Ellie Spiller, Sophie Stroud and Kacey Tyer.
