TAUNTON-based property developer, Summerfield, are inviting local businesses and organisations to book a team for their 2014 charity boules tournament, which is being held in Taunton in support of the Somerset Crimebeat Trust.

This year’s tournament is being held on Thursday, September 4, at Woodlands Castle in Taunton, from 1.45pm till 6pm where a buffet and refreshments will also be served to around 40 teams throughout the day.

Entering a team costs £80, with proceeds going to charity, or £100 with additional £20 going straight to the Somerset Crimebeat Trust.

Teams of three or four people will compete for boules prizes while enjoying an afternoon of business networking, and all for a good cause. Prizes will also be given for those wishing to come in fancy dress.

Event organiser, Ben Trickey of Summerfield, said: “Following the success of our previous charity boules tournaments, the interest in participating this year has already been very good.

"With around eight places remaining for teams to enter this year, I would urge people to get in touch and register their interest as soon as possible.”

Somerset Crimebeat Trust aim to give young people in Somerset the opportunity to combat crime, and causes of crime, in their community.

The charity is led by the High Sheriff of Somerset, Richard Lloyd, who is also Summerfield’s executive chairman.
