SOMERSET County Council wants to hear from anyone who has been looking after someone else’s child for a period of more than 28 days.
During national Private Fostering Awareness Week, which continues until July 13, information has been highlighted that if the child is not an immediate relative, they may be classed as privately fostered if looked after for more than 28 days.
Somerset County Council is required to be informed if a child is being privately fostered and reminds members of the public that the authority can provide practical and emotional support to parents, children and private foster carers.
Anyone who requires further information is requested to email childrens@somerset.gov.uk, phone 0845 345 9122 or click here.
