RIO Carnival came to Enmore as a local school and pre-school held a World Cup-inspired summer ball.

Parents and staff at at Enmore Primary School and Goathurst Pre-school joined forces to organise their tenth annual ball at Enmore Golf Club.

Guests were greeted in true Latin-style by samba dancers from Fox King Dance Academy, and carnival cocktails were enjoyed while guests listened to the live three-piece samba band.

Duncan MacRae, head teacher Enmore Primary School welcomed everyone to the event.

After the meal there was the grand raffle draw, which included prizes from Mulberry, Jamie Steven’s Hair Salon and several nearby businesses which raised nearly £900.

Revellers then hit the dance floor as six-piece band The Targets provided the music.

The ball raises funds for the school and pre-school.

Philippa Kingston, chair of the ball committee, said: “It was a wonderful evening and the committee would like to thank all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes and sponsored the event.”
