A MAN who previously lived in Burnham has been knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Sir John Dunford OBE received the knighthood for his services to education.
Some readers may remembers Sir John from when he lived in Stoddens Road.
He was also a pupil of Hill Brow Prep School in Brent Knoll, now the base for Somerset Court.
He is a former teacher, head teacher and general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders.
Sir John has represented a number of educational organisations, including the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors, of which he has been chairman since March 2011.
