A TALENTED ten-year-old from Brent Knoll who was dubbed ‘the next Beyoncé’ is preparing for her next major performance.
Gracie Wickens-Sweet, ten, pictured right, will be performing live at the Olympus Theatre at Filton College, Stoke Gifford, on Monday.
Gracie was previously runner up in the national Star of the Stage musical theatre competition, where she was deemed “the next Beyoncé” by Connie Fisher.
Proud mum Anne Sweet said: “We’re trying to branch out and do things outside Burnham as she gets more and more well-known.
“She’s got a lot of gigs coming in and she will be doing this event alongside older drama students who are quite experienced.
“People just can’t believe how mature her voice is for her age. She has that X factor and we are actually waiting for her to turn 14 because she really wants to enter that.”
The Bristol show will see Gracie perform numerous songs including ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and ‘Hallelujah’, as sung by Alexandra Burke on The X Factor.
Anne said: “She will be performing at the healing festival at Secret World in East Huntspill on July 12. She was so popular last year, she’s been invited back.
“She’s got a little gig at Pawlett social club coming up soon and the carnival concerts in Bridgwater.
“She did a charity event at St John’s Church in Highbridge at the weekend and they said how professional and polished she is for her age.”
