The Bridgwater College Show Choir recently performed against choirs from all over the country at the Anvil Theatre, Baskingstoke in the Choir of the Year competition, where they received a Highly Commended award.

Adjudicators, ex-King Singer Stephen Connolly, Joanna Forbes L’Estrange and David Lawrence, applauded the show choir’s performance stating: “Incredibly exciting … you obviously love what you do and you are very good at it!”

The judges also highlighted “excellent” soloists Danielle Middle, Amber Wright and Alfie Perry.

Following the competition, the show choir took to the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, where they joined choirs from all over the county in the Festival of Song.

Emma Nicholson, 17, from Burnham-on-Sea said, “It was great to be included in something so professional and it is always good to receive comments back from industry professionals.”
