Ilminster by-election deadline looms
A BY-ELECTION will be held in Ilminster to appoint a town councillor.
Councillors decided last Tuesday to pay £1,500 to South Somerset District Council to have polling cards sent out to each house in the town in a bid to encourage people to vote.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, July 4, and if there is more than one candidate, an election will be held on Thursday, July 31.
Nominations must be sent to The Returning Officer, Council Offices, Brympton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2HT.
