A CELEBRATION of all things cycling and walking is coming to Bridgwater on Saturday, July 19, with the ‘The Bridgwater Way Summer Festival’.

Taking place at Blake Gardens between 1pm till 4pm, the free-festival is the showpiece event of The Bridgwater Way project (TBW), which aims to transform the way people travel in the town.

Deputy Leader of Somerset County Council, Cllr David Hall, said: “With circus performers, an obstacle course, face painting, stilt walkers, pedal painting and much more, the afternoon will be packed full of entertainment. “Remember to bring your bike for the Dr Bike servicing, bike decoration workshops and to take-on the obstacle course. It will be a great event for the whole family.”

There will be live music, food stalls and an area for picnics.

The Summer Festival will include the Great Bridgwater Bike Build-Off. A ‘Scrapheap Challenge-style’ competition will see teams building a bike to participate in the festival procession that will take place later in the day All will be invited to participate in the procession in and showcase their decorated faces and bikes.
