PLANS to knock down an historic mill in Wellington have been withdrawn.
Aspect360 wanted to replace Hayman’s Mill in Westford with eight detached houses and applied to Taunton Deane Council for planning permission, but it has pulled out after concerns were raised and town councillors recommended refusal.
They said the proposal would not be in keeping with the area, would cause traffic problems at the junction of Rackfield with Payton Road, and would result in the loss of an important heritage mill.
Neighbours wrote the Deane expressing fears over increased traffic with 18 parking spaces earmarked.
Kit Stokes, of Aspect360, said they were working to address the concerns.
