CROWDS gathered in Burnham to see an amazing turnout of 152 vintage and post-war classic motorbikes.
The Coast to Coast run on Sunday was a road trip into the past with old names such as Royal Enfield, BSA, Norton and Harley Davidson and there were also some bikes with sidecars complete with upholstered leather seats.
Coast to Coast takes a lot of effort by event organiser Dick Dampier who is assisted by 70 bike marshals.
There was no overall winner but various awards were given including The Mike Needham Award, Participants’ Choice, The Len Pratt Memorial Trophy, The Bernard Taylor Award and the Highest Combined Age of Sidecar, Three-wheeler and Rider.
Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox said: “The atmosphere was great and for me to pick one bike out for ‘Mayor’s Choice’ was an impossible task – the shortlist kept changing as each group of bikes came into view.”
