DRIVERS are being warned not to ignore ‘no entry’ signs near Rhode Lane in Bridgwater.
The warning follows a few near misses at the Beechwood/Rhode Lane junction where signs have been put up by Somerset County Council warning road-users not to enter an area where works are being carried out.
Sgt Chris Walls, of Bridgwater Police, said: “Motorists are driving past and ignoring the no entry signs and there have been a few near-misses with other vehicles at the other side.
“The neighbourhood beat team have been carrying out patrols in this area and speaking to motorists about the importance of road safety.
“The no entry sign is there for a reason, please respect that.”
