Chard woman celebrates 10th birthday with older cousin
A CHARD woman turned 100 years old this week and spent her birthday with her cousin – who is also a centenarian.
Doreen Redfern celebrated her birthday on Sunday and received a visit from her cousin Maurice Hill, who reached his 100th birthday in January.
Both have lived in and around Chard all of their lives. Maurice owned a shoe repair business in Holyrood Street and Doreen worked at Boots the chemist for 48 years.
