SINCE January, Dominick Buck has shared a stage with über Brit boy bands Blue and 5IVE, and X Factor’s Shayne Ward and Matt Cardle.

On Wednesday (June 25), the 22-year-old beat-boxer from Wellington heads to Glastonbury with acoustic beat-box acapella band Triple Threat for their first Worthy Farm performance.

“We’re going to be in the Theatre and Circus field. I’ve been heard at Pilton as a solo beat-box performer, but this’ll be the first time with Triple Threat,” Dom tells the County Gazette.

“I remember my first time at the festival was a big blur. It’s so surreal, and I didn’t think you could fit so many people in such a small space.

“It’s the human equivalent of a cattle market. If you walk off with a bunch of friends and they walk off for two minutes you’re not going to see them again for half an hour.”

Reflecting on a whirlwind year so far for Dom and fellow band members AJ and Elliot, he says: “It’s not until you look back at it and see what you’ve done that it actually starts to make a story. We feel amazing to be a part of it.”

Post-Glastonbury, the band is looking forward to supporting Westlife’s Shane Filan at Bridgwater’s Blake Hall and Yeovil Westlands, and a record label showcase at the O2 in Islington.

As for Dom’s beat-boxing craft? “At every single show, every day, there is some sort of development in my beat-boxing, whether it’s a noise or pattern.

“The more I perform the more I learn.”
