POTHOLES along the A358 between Chard and Donyatt will be repaired “shortly” according to highways bosses at Somerset County Council.

The potholes are littered along the major route but have now been marked with lines and dots in paint before work to fill them in starts.

A spokesman for Somerset County Council, said: “Highway works are planned on the A358 between Chard and Donyatt to improve the existing condition of the carriageway surface, this will involve areas of patching. Works will commence shortly.”

Rather than paint round the holes, paint in the holes, repaint when the paint gets dirty and eventually the holes will be filled. Might be quicker.
