BROKEN or worn small electrical items could win one lucky Somerset resident a £100 prize during Recycle Week June 16-23.
The free £100 prize draw is being offered as an incentive for any adult taking in a worn or broken small electrical item to any of the county’s 16 recycling centres as they deposit other waste during Recycle Week.
Small electrical includes anything portable or handheld with a plug or batteries or both.
That could range from a kettle or toaster, radio or CD player, hairdryer or curling tongs to an electric toothbrush, power drill, shaver, iron, electric screwdriver and much more.
The £100 free prize draw has been organised by waste firm Viridor, which runs Somerset’s recycling centres, and Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP).
Five of Somerset’s busiest recycling centres - Bridgwater, Frome, Minehead, Taunton, and Yeovil - have extended opening hours and are now open 8am-4pm seven days a week.
For recycling centre information, contact Somerset Direct on 0845 3459188 or visit www.somersetwaste.gov.uk.
