THE centre of Cannington has bloomed thanks to local volunteers aiming to spruce up their village.

Cannington Community Pride Day, organised by Cannington in Bloom, saw villagers planting wild flowers around the roundabout in the centre.

They also planted sunflowers and vegetables along the school path and cleared out weeds from the overgrown path and at the Garden of Rest.

The bridge’s hand rails and road rails over the old bridge have been painted, the bus stop has been scrubbed from top to bottom, and all the litter around the village has been picked up.
