THERE’S something for everyone this week as the Ilminster Midsummer Experience gets underway.

With loads of activities going on from Thursday to Sunday, people of all ages will have the chance to go outdoors and experience some top-notch entertainment from residents and nearby societies.

As well as the main events, there will also be plenty of activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, as well as food and drink.

Michael Fry-Foley, one of organisers, said: “We started the week off with a sepia signs history trail and had 17 plaques in shop windows around town.

“It’s good that people will be wondering around and finding bits of information about Ilminster that they may not have known before.

“There is a great line-up of 16 talented people ranging from a five to a 72-year-old, an acapella vocal group to R&B, musical numbers to self-penned songs.

We are expecting a lot of people to come along to cheer on their favourites.

“Based on the previous event, weather permitted, we are be expecting about 2,000 people to come through Ilminster.”
